Milgrams shock study (1963) - procedure
A
- volunteer sample of 40 men (study on ‘learning and punishment’)
- real ppts paired with confederates
- told to teach learner (confederates) word pairs
- if the learner got an answer wrong the ppt had to administer an electric shock of increasing voltage
- experimenter provided a verbal prompt

- nearly all will obey an unjust order
