A

-repetitive compulsions e.g hand washing.
-behaviour which reduces anxiety.
-avoidance behaviour, people stay away from situations which may trigger anxiety.

What are 3 emotional characteristics of ocd?

A

-anxiety, urge to repeat a behaviour creates anxiety.
-depression, compulsions interfere with day to day functioning and relationships.
-guilt and disgust, minor moral issues.

-obsessive thoughts.
-cognitive coping strategies e.g a religious person may pray.
