When is overnight direct routing permitted between the OCR and AA TMA sectors?
- when AMAN is turned off overnight
- both parties must agree
- if one party declines, direct routing ceases
- TMA can offer direct at any time

Both aircraft on long STARs - 5nm
Both aircraft on short STARs - 5nm
Alternate routing or specified by ATM - separated or as coordinated
Preceding aircraft A380 - 15nm
What is a controller’s responsibility when advised that a controlled flight is manoeuvring in response to an RA?
- pass essential traffic info to all aircraft that may be affected by the manouevre
- no control instructions issued
- controller not responsible for separation between RA aircraft & any other aircraft, terrain or obstructions
- controller to restore separation once aircraft reports clear of conflict
- controllers responsibility for separation resumes after separation has been restored
Is AMAN responsible for separation between aircraft?
No.
What level can AA TMA descend overflying northbound aircraft, destination WR, without verbal coordination?
11,000ft
Is MSAW available in RDP or dual bypass modes?
No
When will flight plan interpolation be automatically terminated?
- a new position report for the aircraft is received via automatic correlation
- the flight plan is terminated
- flight plan manually correlated
- flight plan reaches end of it’s trajectory
What lateral separation shall be used between an RPS and temporary danger/restricted map?
5nm or greater
What should the OCR controller do after vectoring an International arrival off track?
Issue the aircraft with instructions to rejoin the STAR at or prior to the applicable STAR feeder fix/as coordinated with ATM
What procedure should the OCR controller follow when an aircraft requests to undertake parachuting in controlled airspace at NZWR?
The aircraft will generally have an assigned code/given local area code
- identify the aircraft
- clear the aircraft to enter controlled airspace on climb/restrict if required
- clear aircraft to drop and leave controlled airspace (subject traffic)
- calling instructions WR MBZ 118.6
- pass IFR arrival times/details of departure clearances for WR
When overnight direct routing is in place, at what point is the responsibility for separating arriving and departing aircraft transferred between AA TMA and OCR?
30nm
When arrival holding is activated, where are international aircraft that are in the OCR sector with destination NZAA held?
- international aircraft hold at ARADI, BASIV, EXOPI, EAGIL, FOKRE or outside 50nm
- domestic aircraft hold at UKAPA, APABO or outside 50nm
- control and RTF remain with OCR
What is the phraseology to request a pilot to confirm the code selected on the aircraft’s transponder?
“Confirm Squawk (code)”
What is the phraseology when requesting a report either at a specified distance from a DME station or when issuing a climb restriction using a DME distance?
“report (distance) from (aid) DME”
“Maintain (level) until (distance) (aid) DME”
What are the restrictions in the use of Mode C level information when operating in Skyline bypass mode?
Mode C info below the transition level shall not be used if QNH info in list line for area in which bypass radar is located differs by greater than 3hPa from that in which the aircraft is operating.
