OMB - SOPs Flashcards

1
Q

What weights must be checked before departure?

A

Regulated take off weight

And

Dispatch regulated landing weight (except if flight crew can ensure that RLDW is limited by maximum structural landing weight, this is only applicable when DRY or WET runway conditions are expected)

Q

What do you do if landing dispatch performance cannot be guaranteed?

A

You select two alternate aerodromes, that allow full compliance with the dispatch landing performance calculations.

Q

How can you increase dispatch regulated landing weight if you are performance limited?

A

You can select “MAN - A/THR OFF” this removes the + 5 key minimum approach correction to Vls to the final approach speed Vapp

Q

When do you not need to calculate landing dispatch performance?

A

When you can ensure that regulated landing distance weight is limited by maximum structural landing weight. This is when the runway condition is dry and wet

Q

During aircraft set up what is the minimum battery voltage for APU fire test/APU start?

A

25.5 V

Completing the fire test if the battery voltage is below 25.5 may result in discharge of the APU fire extinguisher.

Q

During aircraft setup when do you perform a complete IRS alignment?

A

1) Before the e first flight of the day

2) when there is a crew change

3) when GPS is not available and the NAVAIDS coverage is poor on the expected route

4) when GPS is not available and expected flight time is more than 3 hours

Q

What items are completed by CM2 during the cockpit check?

A

1) cockpit security search

2) Emergency equipment check

3) CB panels

4) rain repellent (check pressure and and quantity)

5) gear pins and covers ( check that 3 gear pins are on board)

6) Fan cowl flag (only for CEO)

7) check cockpit door locking system

8) check cockpit door locking system:
a) Ann LT Selector to test - check open and fault light on the pedestal come on and the three strike lights on the the overhead panel.
b) Lock CP door and set switch to unlock, check door opens and open light comes on. Release the switch and shut the door, check the open indication goes off.
c) check the door opens normally and closes when the mechanical override is used.

9) check cockpit lights

Q

What’s EFB initialisation?

A

1) check aircraft iPad - in flight safe mode and the battery is above 80%.

2) check own iPad battery level

3) OFP - crosscheck number and have been retrieved

4) EFB version - check you both have the most up to date EFB version in FS+.

5) EFB aircraft registration - check aircraft registration to the “my flight” registration entered into the application.

Q

What do you do in aircraft acceptance?

A

1) ECAM RCL pb

2) ECAM pages - OXY, reservoir fluid, engine oil quantity.
Engine Oil CEO - 9.5 qt + 0.5 qt an hour.
Engine Oil NEO - the highest of 10.6 qt or 8.9 qt + 0.45 qt an hour.

3) A/C tech log - check MEL/CDL items and check the taxi in time from the previous flight if in icing conditions with the OAT +3 or below. To determine the taxi out time before the next engine ice shedding.

4) A/C Registration in eQRH crosschecked

5) check OEBs in eQRH

6) check aircraft configuration summary in eQRH

7) CM1 has completed sector strip.

Q

What should you do if you have a smell event?

A

Report to MOC via the most expeditious means. The Smell in Aircraft Report (SIAR) should be used as a reference if speaking to MOC. MOC will complete the form so there is no need for the commander to complete. A tech log entry is required. An ACARs message should be sent as soon as possible.

Q

What do you do if ACCU press indicator isn’t in the green band during aircraft set up?

A

Use the electric pump on the yellow hydraulic system to recharge the brake accumulator but get ground crew clearance before.

17
Q

What colour does the forward oxygen discharge indicator need to be?

A

Green

18
Q

What colour APU fire extinguisher over pressure indication are you looking for at the back of the aircraft?

A

A red disc

19
Q

When do you set pack flow to low?

A

If pax numbers are below 130

20
Q

Can a pre-released flight plan be used?

A

No don’t retrieve it, just view it. Call ICC before departure.

21
Q

If in icing conditions when do you not need to switch on engine anti-ice?

A

During the climb and cruise when SAT is below -40 degrees Celsius.
