Q

weather and house setting

A

Dark clouds filled the horizon and the loud patter of the rainn awoke me to the dreaded morning. A heavy atmosphere filled the house as I stumbled to leave on time. Throwing on whatever I could I snatched at my pre-packed bag and headed downstairs. The house was quiet – as it always was. Too quiet.

the crash

A

With the sudden screech of burning rubber and metal clanging the inside of the car was showered with deadly slivers of glass. I felt myself being flipped over. Again . and again . my body bluntly beating against every wall of the vehicle .. I was in a whirlpool of disarray. I couldn’t tell if it was the cold fear that ran through me or the crushing of my insides that made my throat swell and begin to constrict. Any last hope was gone- cries of my family filled my head with excruciating pains. Trembling, quaking, sweating : my heart pounded.
Within the stretched out seconds that followed every detail was horrifyingly clear -dark fumes began to fill the tight space seeping through every crack. An uncomfy feeling scratched at the back of my throat and I squeezed my eyes tight shut.

Q

describing place

A

I looked over the horizon – seas of sparkling silver-blue waves crashed peacefully at the sandy shores. Jungles of assorted light and dark greens lined up by the coast and birds of all colours flew from the crown of the trees only to fly back into the green abyss. The ombre of oranges to sage green to baby blue occupied the sky above the oceanfront inviting me down to the parade below.

I breathed in the night and the warm atmosphere filled me with joy. Nothing mattered, nobody mattered but us. Carefree and at peace I shut my eyes tight – I never wanted it to end.

Q

realisation

A

Until promptly my senses started to sharpen
The once sweet aromas of delicacies turned bitter and my nostrils stung before I started choking
The sweet melodies turned to a wailing siren shattering a stark silence
The warm feeling of happiness turned stone cold
Forcing my eyes open I faced my reality and it all came back to me.
