Aphthous Stomatitis
Treatment: No surgical tx indicated (recurrent disease). Advise pt to avoid foods that may gouge existing ulcers or create new ones. Rx: Topical corticosteroid Cyclosporine mouthrinse Antimicrobial Systemic steroids (if severe)
HSV Infection
Treatment: No surgical tx indicated. Advise pt to drink liquids to prevent dehydration. Rx: Antiviral OTC Abreva Broad-spectrum antibiotic
Denture Sore Mouth (Papillary Hyperplasia)
Treatment: Good oral & denture hygiene. Make sure denture fits well. Advise pt not to wear at night. Surgical reduction may provide better denture base. Rx: Antifungal

Surgical excision for better denture fit

Surgical excision deep enough to include underlying gland that feeds it

Treatment:

Traumatic Ulcer
Treatment:
Remove cause if known.
Rx:
Topical Orajel
Drug Induced Gingival Hyperplasia
Treatment: Good oral hygiene. Surgical removal of excess tissue. Rx: Discontinue drugs that result in overgrowth.
Geographic Tongue
Treatment: None Rx: Only if symptomatic. Topical steroid ointment.
Lichen Planus
Treatment: None Rx: Only if symptomatic. Topical steroids.
Angular Cheilosis
Treatment:
Restore proper OVD.
