  • Famous in Spain and Portugal
  • Light bodied, dry with high acid. No oak aging
  • Refreshing coastal wine that is known for rich stone fruit flavors, a hint of salinity and zippy acidity

T.N. - lemon zest, grapefruit, honeydew, nectarine and saline

Pairing - ceviche, risotto, oysters, mussels, clams, soft/semi-hard cheeses and grilled veggies

A

-Minerally and dry Pinot Grigio comes from Italy
-dry with high acid, no oak that pair well with mussels, shellfish
and salty food
-Fruity and dry Pinot Gris

-this is a new world style; California, Oregon, New Zealand
-light fish, poultry, pork, veggies
-Fruity and sweet Pinot Grigio
-typically Alsace, France
-flavors of sweet lemon candy, honeycomb and honey crisp apples

  • High acid similar to levels in lemonade
  • Made sweet or dry (most new world is dry)
  • In Germany Trocken will be dry Riesling and Pradikat will be sweet Riesling

T.N. - aromatic wine with orchard fruits like nectarine, apricot, honey-crisp apple, pear, honeycomb, jasmine, lime peel and petrol

Pairing - duck, poultry, pork, shellfish like shrimp and crab, spicy food, cows milk cheese and roasted veggies
