what is chicken pox
A
Itchy spotty rash all over the body. this is caused by varicella- zoster virus.

Chickenpox is highly infectious.
starts being infectious 1-2 days before the rash and then until the scabs have formed.
- occurs in 3 stages.

signs and symptoms of chickenpox
A
- high temperature
- aches and pains
- generally feel unwell
- loss of appetite

Advice to give with chickenpox
A
-Most infectious 1-2 days prior to rash.
- infectious until scabs have formed.
- stay away from school/nursery
- stay hydrated
- manage symptoms
- soft clothes
-Antihistamines - OTC creams
- SHORT nails or wear mittens
- paracetamol
