Explain the Authoritarian personality as an explanation for obedience.
A
It is a collection of traits that are developed from strict parenting. Some of these traits include: Conformist and obedient towards people of a perceived higher status.

Explain the Agentic state as an explanation for obedience.
A
People will unconsciously carry out orders from a person of perceived authority and thus pass the consequences to that person.

Evaluation of the Agentic state.
A
Milgram’s 1967 - 65% of participants went to 450 volts which is extremely lethal. The participants did this because there was someone of a perceived authority with them the whole time. Thus they entered the agentic state and dissociated themselves with the consequences.
