Why does the Torah use the double expression “השבע השביע” instead of just saying השביע?
Because Yosef made his brothers swear that they would make their children swear, so two oaths took place.
Why didn’t יוסף make his brothers swear that they would bury him in the Land of Israel immediately after he died like יעקב made יוסף swear?
Yosef said: I was a ruler in Egypt and I had sufficient power to do what my father desired; but my sons — the Egyptians will not permit them to do this.
When Yosef made his brothers swear, he said “and you will bring up my bones from here with you.” What did Yosef mean by the word “אתכם” (with you)?
This tells us that when Bnei Yisrael left Egypt, they must have brought up with them the bones of all Yaakov’s sons (lit., the tribes) since it is said “with you” (with your own bones) (Mekhilta d’Rabbi Yishmael 13:19:11).
