A

Perhaps he does develop ideological characters - He breaks the rules of genre by humanising generic character tropes by showing the old rules are inept. No matter how amoral, we empathise with them

A

Challenges generic narrative arcs and neat resolutions. E.g Vincent dies, only to be reborn in the end, Marvin is shot by accident and Jules has a religious epiphany

How do many of the central characters subvert conventions and enjoy a positive narrative solution?

A

Jules becomes the good sheperd rather than avenging angel, Vincent saves Mia, Butch outwits Marsellus and runs off with Fabienne, Marsellus takes revenge on sadistic rednecks - happy endings?
