The blades will be heated too often and cause “Run Back ice”.

The system is designed to allow ice build up on the leading edge and then shed. If the leading edge is pre-heated, the water will move past the leading edge before freezing and onto a non-deiced part of the blade. Always match the de-ice mode to the ice rate meter or use AUTO (preferred). (RFM 3-75)
