Primary pd/ secondary pd = number of turns on primary/ number of turns on secondary
What are transformers used for?
To step up or down voltages.
What affect does the grid having a higher pd?
The efficiency of transferring electrical power is greater

132,000 volts
If the grids pd was lower what would happen?
More current would be needed to deliver the same amount of power
The cables would heat up more and waste more power
For a step up transformer, what is the relation between the number of secondary turns and the number of primary turns?
Secondary turns are greater than the number of primary turns.

100% efficient

Primary current X primary pd
What is the power delivered by the transformer equal to?
The secondary current X then secondary pd
