Plant And Animal Adaptations Flashcards

1
Q

Q

Physiological adaptations of animals

A
  • Small and highly mobile
  • Light coloured to reflect heat
  • Long eyelashes
  • Veins close to the surface increasing heat loss
  • Hard skin to reduce moisture loss
  • Long legs to distance from hot ground
  • Kidneys produce concentrated urine and dry faeces

Q

What are ephemeral plants and how do they survive?

A

They live for a very short time as they only grow during flash floods. Rain is unreliable, so they wait until it rains guaranteeing them a supply of water.
