- causes - diabetes or autoimmune disease

- acute, inflammatory demyelination of PNS and motor fibers
- affects Schwann cells
- autoimmune disease
- weakness and tingling in LE
- difficulty with chewing, swallowing, speaking, and facial expressions
- deep aching or hypersensitive to touch
