Definition and aetiology

A

~ Post hepatics cirrhosis/ macronodular cirrhosis/ coarsely nodular cirrhosis

Aetiology :
~ Viral hepatitis: B and C
~ drugs: phosphorus, CCl4, mushroom, Alfa methyl dopa, acetaminophen
~ infections: Brucellosis, Clonorchis, Wilson’s disease, ALD
~ idiopathic

Morphology

A

Gross: liver is small, irregular, macronodules of varying sizes + broadband fibre
Micro :
~ loss of architecture
~ macronodules : >3mm
~ fibrosis
~ inflammation

Clinical Features

A

~ females more common
~ cirrhosis features
~Splenomegaly , hypersplenism
~HCC later
