What is transmitted through the mental foramen?
The inferior alveolar nerve
What is transmitted through the mandibular foramen?
The inferior alveolar nerve and the inferior alveolar artery
Which is more anterior and which one forms the TMJ? The coronoid process or the condylar process?
Coronoid is more anterior, the condylar forms the TMJ
Which muscles of mastication are superficial
The masseter and the temporalis
Which muscles of mastication lie deep
The medial and lateral pterygoids
Where do the pterygoids attach and how do you tell the difference between the two?
Both pterygoids attach to the lateral pterygoid plates
The medial pterygoid runs parallel to the masster and attaches to the inner surface of the mandible while the lateral runs towards the TMJ
What is the nerve supply to the sinuses?
Frontal - V1
Etmoidal - V1
Sphenoidal - V1+2
Maxillary - V2
Where does the hypoglossal nerve (Cr N XII) emerge?
From the jugular foramen
