Q

How does Prep help you?

A

Helps to give clear answers instead of rambling
Prep forces you to front load your point and your reason.
You cannot talk through the background, about details before you come to the reason
You are going to want to put the point at the front so people -> so people want to listen to what you have to say.
Example - > You can also think about it as an elaboration for your point

Q

Give an example for prep. What is the most important delivery skill a speaker needs to master

A

Point: Of all of the body language a speaker can work on. Eye contact is the most critical
Reason: Because this is where confidence, connection and credibility come into play
Example: too often can I can see nervous speakers turning on the sprinklers spraying their eyes around the room. When instead what you want to do is land your eyes with different people in the room for about 3 - 5 seconds
Point: When developing your skills as a public speaker make sure you work on your eye contact because it is a critical part of conveying confidence and credibility as a speaker
