What is processing ?
Processing is where all the intsructions or data is processed into information and stored for present or future use.
What are the hardware components computers consist of ?
1.Central Processing Unit (CPU)
2.Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)
3.Control Unit (CU)
What is the CPU ?
The Central Processing Unit is the main processor in a computer.
What is the ALU ?
The Arithmetic Logic Unit does all the calculation in the CPU.
What is the control unit ?
The control unit decides what gets processed and when it gets processed, the time it takes to get processed and in what order within the CPU.
The control unit controls the flow and execution of data and instruction.
What is software ?
Software is a set of instructions (called a program) that governs the operation of a computer system and makes the hardware run.
What is hardware ?
Hardware is the set of physical components in a computer system.
What are the four processing modes ?
1.Bathc processing
2.Online processing
3.Real-time processing
4.Time sharing processing
What is batch processing ?
Batch processing also known as offline processing is a method of processing data in which the data is collected and stored over a period of then all the data is processed together.
What is online processing ?
Online processing is a method for processing data in which the data is collected and processed immediately.
What is real-time processing ?
Real-time processing is a method for inputting data, processing and outputting data continuously, and is used to control activities as they happen.
What is time sharing processing ?
Timesharing is a method of processing that allows many users to use a computer system simultaneously.
What is hertz ?
Hertz is the basic unit of measurement of computer speed in cycles per second.
