PUT THE PLAY INTO VISUAL OUTPUT OR THE ACTUAL FINISHED PRESENTATION THEY CHOOSE THE MEMBERS OF THE TEAM AND ASSIGNED THEIR FUNCTION They oversee the casting of the actors and actresses for the different roles. He/ She also takes care of the finances of the production cost and looks for sources for the funds needed in the play.
The directors are the overall artistic coordinator of the entire production. They have a vision of the desired total effect and impact of the performance. They ensure that the characters portray their appropriate roles.
DIRECTORS
They are the script writers (play script) in a musical play. They develop the original concept of the story like when or where it happens. They also adapt existing stories or play and present it in a new way.
PLAYWRIGHT
- They conceptualize and design the physical stage set-up where the play’s characters are supposed to live
SET DESIGNER
- They are concerned with the lights to be used to create the mood of each scene in a play, highlighting a dramatic moment, signaling the entrance of a character, focusing attention on a specific spot-on stage, or even providing the blanket of darkness for set and prop changes.
LIGHTNING DESIGNER
- They are in-charge of designing the proper or appropriate costume for each character based on the setting of the play.
COSTUME DESIGNER
They enhance the atmosphere of the performance by suiting the music on the stage and giving background music in a particular scene.
SOUND DESIGNER
They are tasked with overseeing the crews for the sets and props, the sound and music, the lighting, and the costumes. They ensure that all needed in production are available and well maintained.
PRODUCTION MANAGER
They shadow the play’s director throughout the entire process. They checked that all the team members are coordinated to bring the director’s vision on the play to life.
TECHNICAL DIRECTORS
They create the dance steps needed in a certain scene and trained the characters to perform the dance skillfully through rehearsals.
CHEORGRAPHERS
They think and plan the hairstyle and makeup of the characters to make their role realistic and complement their costumes.
MAKE UP DESIGNER
it was characterized by a very exciting form of musical theater where dramatic actions are expressed through an alternate combination of songs and dialogues.
Zarzuela or sarswela-
- it is a folk drama-based on the battles between Christians and Muslims in the Philippines. It is performed in villages usually during fiestas.
MORO MORO OR COMEDIA
it is a Lenten play that depicts events from the Old and New Testaments related to the life, sufferings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was named after the Upper Room (cenacle) which is thought to be the place where the Last Supper was held.
SENAKULO(FROM SPANISH CENAKULO)
- is another performance art characterized by a lighter mood than the opera.

A form of art that brings together all other art forms in a single production.
THEATHER
Philippine Theater has a variety of musical numbers, comedic and
dramatic skits, and song and dance numbers.

It is a poetic debate presented through song and dance which originated from
indigenous courtship customs.
