3 steps of transcription
A
- DNA uncoils in and unzips just like in DNA replication
- Bases from the nucleotide pool are used to make mRNA from the template DNA strand
- The mRNA strand leaves the nucleus

List the three steps of translation
A
- The mRNA molecule now moves to the cytoplasm
- mRNA moves to the ribosome by aligning with tRNA using bases called codons and complementary ones called anti-codons found in the tRNA
- Once mRNA joins with tRNA amino acids form peptide bonds to form protein
