What is Freud’s structural theory?
A
Freud divided the psyche into Id, ego and super-ego.
Id: UNCONSCIOUS INSTINCTUAL DRIVES that seeks pleasure or are destructive (selfish, primitive, childish part of personality)
Ego: executive function of mind (the MODERATOR)
Superego: MORAL CONSCIENCE based on ideals and values internalised from parents and society (standard of good, bad and right from wrong)
