Population Health Model (ecological model)
Broader perspective and examines the relationship between innate biological characteristics of individuals and their interactions with their peer groups, families, communities, schools, and workplaces, as well as the broad economic, cultural, social, and physical environmental conditions at the local, national, and global levels
Health impact pyramid
Counseling and education, clinical interventions, long lasting protective interventions, changing the context to make individuals default decisions healthy, socioeconomic factors
Secondary prevention
Early diagnosis, prior to symptom presentation, prevention of complications
Tertiary prevention
Early diagnosis, prior to symptom presentation, prevention of complications
Levels of intervention
Individual focused, community focused (cannot be individualized), system focused
Primary prevention
Prevent onset of condition
