Quick Rev Physics Flashcards
What is Newtons 3rd law of motion
When two objects interact with each other they exert equal and opposite forces on each other
What does Newton’s first law state?
If the forces acting on an object are balanced, the resultant force on the object is zero
What is suspended equilibrium?
If u suspend an object and then release it , it will come to rest directly below the point of suspension. The Center of mass is directly below the suspension
Equation for constant speed
Speed(m/s) = distance travelled(m) / time taken (s)
How to calculate acceleration?
a(m/s^2) = v-u(m/s)/t(s)
Hooke’s Law
The extension of the spring is directly proportional to the force applied, as long as its limit is not exceeded
Momentum equation
p (kg m/s) = m(kg) x v(m/s)
What is Hooke’s law written as an equation?
force applied(N) = spring constant(N/m) x extension(m)
