What do positivists believe?
Sociology is a science. They argue we should treat humans as objects whose behaviour can be directly observed, measured and counted in the same way as natural phenomena such as animals, chemicals and so on.
What do interpretivist sociologists believe?
There is an important difference between the subject matter of sociology and the subject matter of the natural sciences. He rejected the idea that human beings can be treated like objects.
What is qualitative data?
Presents the quality of the way of life of the research subjects in the form of words rather than numbers.
What is quantitative data?
Data that can be expressed in numerical bar-charts and so on.
