Q

Steps for northern Blot

A
  • collect and load RNA in different species and different wells of agarose gel
  • run electrophoresis
  • Blood transfer DNA to nitro cellulose paper
  • add nuclei acid probe
  • if you see bands on the block, gene expression is expressed

Q

Steps to rRNA processing

A

-transcription will occur first
-Then ribosomal proteins bind 45 pre-rRNA
-Chemical modifications to pre-RRNA
-Add methyl to basis and sugars to nucleotides and change urine
-Cleve Pre rRNA into 18s, 5.8s, 28s
-generate pre-ribosomal particles (small subunit &large subunit)
- pre-ribosomal particles, exit nucleus, and mature in the cytoplasm

Exit site: tRNA W/o amino acid exit here

17
Q

What is tRNA?

A

Transfer RNA

18
Q

tRNA processing steps

A

-generate two prime structure with three hairpins
-Cleve five prime to three prime ends
-add CCA to three prime end of tRNA
-Modify bases
-TNA charging: flip TRNA to be complementary to mRNA, look for codon (mRNA) five prime to three prime, then add sequence of tRNA anticodon.
