When does it finish
Lent is a period of time when we try to be more like Jesus. Our Lent runs for 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Holy Thursday. This is the same amount of time Jesus spent fasting and praying in the desert.
What do Christians do during lent
almsgiving, self denial and prayer
When we pray we ask God for forgiveness.
Self denial is a act of giving up something important to you such as a treat like chocolate or using your computer less.
Almsgiving is when you help those in need. For example you might donate clothes to charity or give food and money to the poor.
Finally some people may fast.
