Q

Sensitivity vs. Specificity

A

Sensitivity: the probability that a person with disease has a positive test. This is represented as a/(a + c) in the disease present column of the 2 × 2 table. Sensitivity is also known as the true positive rate

Specificity: the probability that a non-diseased person has a negative test, represented as d/(b + d) in the disease absent column of the 2 × 2 table. Specificity is also known as the true negative rate
