Red Flag symptoms

A
  • Thunderclap: Rapid peak to intensity over 5 minutes may indicate subarachnoid haemorrhage
  • Headache which changes with posture: high or low cerebrospinal fluid
  • Headache awakening patient: Migraine or increased intracranial pressure
  • Headache with exertion: ?subarachnoid ?pressure
  • Ass with fever: consider meningitis
  • Ass with neck stiffness: Meningeal irritation
