First, find the 4-figure Grid Reference, leaving blanks after the second and fourth number. Now look at the Eastings and Imagine the bottom of the grid square is sub divided into tenths. The bottom left of the grid square is 48 and how many tenths of the way is it till 49 (bottom right corner)? Now write that in the blank after the second number. Now do the same for the Northings (Instead of looking at the bottom left and bottom right corner,look at the bottom left and top left corner) then write the number in the blank after the forth number!
