Q

Resistance practical

A

Attach crocodile clip with wire 0 cm on ruler
Attach second clip 10cm away
Close switch record current and pd
Repeat for different lengths
Calculate resistance for wire
Plot graph of resistance against wire length and draw a line of best fit

Q

Find components of IV characteristics

A

Set up test circuit
Begin to vary variable resistor - alters the current flowing through the circuit and the pd across the component
Take several pairs of reading from ammeter and voltmeter to see how potential difference across components as current changes
Repeat to get average pd
Swap wires connected to battery to reverse direction of current
Plot graph of current against voltage for each component
