Inflammation of the lungs caused by infection
Alveoli fill with mucous
Doesn’t allow oxygen to properly reach the blood stream

Irreversible chronic condition caused by obstructed airflow from the lungs

An alveolar disease, enlargement of the alveoli, decreased oxygen in the blood (hypoxemia), increased carbon dioxide in the blood (hypercapnia)
