A

Loss of suction - F004 AND F006 OR F008 OR F009 not full open will energize no suction trip relay

Anti Pump coil prevents re-shutting breaker until closing signal is removed

*this trip is still active when RHR is in local control from RSDP*

Describe LPCI initiation

A
  • RHR pumps start 10 seconds after energize (STR timer)
  • F048 heat exchanger bypass valve has open signal for 3 minutes from initiation signal
  • Suppression Pool cooling valves close (F024 and F028) if cooling permissive not met
  • Spray valves close (F016, F021, F027, F028) is spray permissive is not met
  • RHRSW pumps trip (if running)
  • 410psi RPV - Injection valves get an initiation signal
    • F015 inboard - cannot close with LPCI signal present
    • F017 outoard - open and cannot throttle for 5 minutes from 410psi permissive with initiation signal present
  • 310psi RPV - RCR discharge and bypass valves close
  • 200psi RPV - RHR pumps overcome shutoff head and injection starts

A

A

F008 and F009 close on either group 8 signal

F015 only closes on LL1 if either the F008 and F009 are not full closed

What happens to the RHR system if a LOCA from level occurs during SDC?

A
  • Group 8 closes F008, F009 and F015
  • RHR pumps due to loss of suction source -must be reset due to anti pump
    • F004 and F020 do not automatically open because F006 does not automatically close
  • F015 will auto reopen at LL3 IF F008 or F009 asre full closed

What happens to the RHR system if a LOCA from drywell pressure is recieved duing SDC?

A

RPV pressure already <410psig to permit using shutdown cooling

Heat sink is lost

F008 and F009 do NOT close (no Group 8)

RHRSW pumps trip

F048 opens and cannot b e throttled for 3 minutes

A

Bypasses level above 2/3 core height and lack of a LPCI signal for Cooling and spray permisives

A

FIRST reset core spray logic to de-energize STR timer (drops RHR pump override)

Within 10 seconds Reset LPCI logic to prevent RHR pumps from restarting

What are the effects on the LPCI mode of RHR from a loss 1 division C logic power?

A

All RHR pumps still start

Valves must be manually aligned

Pumps from division without power can be turned off but cannot be restarted due to anti pump sealed in from opposite division
