What is evaporation
The sun warms the sea turning water into water vapour, a gas.
What is condensation
The warm air rises, as it rises it cools, the water vapour condenses into tiny droplets which form clouds.
what is Precipitation
Clouds move by the wind, droplets grow, get bigger, water drops fall as rain, snow.
How does rainfall reach the river?
surface runoff - rainwater along the ground
What is infiltration
This is where water soaks into the ground
What is throughflow
Throughflow is when water soaks through soil, it runs down the slope to the river.
What is groundwater
Groundwater is when water soaks right down and fills the pores and cracks in the rock
what is the water table
The top of the groundwater
What does imperator mean
Impermeable is where water cannot pass through
