Muellerius capillaris, Protostrongylus spp., Dictyocaulus spp.

A

common name - lungworms (M. capillaris - hair lungworm)

  • disease known as “bovine verminous bronchitis”
  • Dictyocaulus spp., seen mostly in dairy calves, immunity develops quickly cattle may die if exposed to large # of larvae while grazing
  • larval dispersal from fecal pat during grazing season by a fungus
