Psalm

Theocentric- direct praise to God
Elements:
Elevation and exultation of the person being praised
Directing the speakers whole being away from themselves and toward the object of praise
Testimony
Declaritive/ narrative praise
Extols Gods activity on a particular occasion
Descriptive praise
Describes Gods qualities or acts he does perpetually
Worship psalms
Do not have fixed form
Identified by presence of references to worship in Jerusalem, allude to pilgrimages that were part of OT religious experience, often intended to be sung on the pilgrimage
Nature poems
Take an aspect of nature and praise it
Pastoral love poem
Set in idealized rural world
