What is Baptism?

Give an example of why it’s important for Christians.

A

Represents how we give ourselves to God. The water cleanses us and makes us start fresh. We are washed away from our past actions and brought into a new life where we live for God.
e.g Jesus came to his cousin, John, where his past of being jewish was cleansed of him.He did this to set an example for christians on how to live their life.

What is the spiritual importance of Holy Communion (Eucharist)?

A

The eucharist joins christians together in their faith. The practice of eating bread and drinking wine to commemorate the body broken and blood spilled during Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

What is Transubstantiation and Consubstantiation?

A

Transubstantiation- The bread and wine are transformed into the actual body and blood of Jesus.
Consubstantiation- Accepts the real Presence of christ at eucharist, but the substance of the bread and wine remains unchanged.

A

Seek absolution from their sins by asking for forgiveness and carrying out
penance. The priest, who is acting on behalf of God, will forgive the sins that have been confessed.

What is absolution?

A

Priest provides ABSOLOUTION to the person so that their sins are forgiven. The person confessing their sin has to be remorseful and regret what they have done.
Relieve CATHOLICS of their guilt.

A

It is given to people who are in danger of becoming more sick from a serious illness and it is also given to those who are likely to die soon.

This sacrament is given by a priest. It is often given to a person in hospital but it may also be given in a person’s home.
