What’s a sampling frame?
A list of people forming a population from which a sample is taken.
What’s a target population?
Everybody the sociologist would like to generalise their findings to.
What’s a gatekeeper?

What are the advantages of a simple random sample?
Representative
Simple
Lack of bias
What are the disadvantages of a simple random sample?
Can be difficult getting access to a list of names
Time consuming
Unintended patterns may appear
What are the advantages of a stratified random sample?
Representative
Generalisable
