Q

example - weak version?

A

inut had specific words for instance “wet falling snow” - imagine what the types of snow may look like - even though there are not specific words for these in our culture - having these words helps it easier to distinguish between the different kinds of snow - words help to “carve up” world

Q

sapir whorf hypothesis - evaluation?

A

used to explain the cognitive underpeformance of poorer students - lacking complex vocab - form teachers into designing classes that improve vocab - improve general understanding of the world

differences of the number of words for objects - the way the languages are used may make perception limited - snow in english can be used with description words to add meaning like the word “soft”
