As the clerk came in with the shovel the master decided that it would be necessary for them to part
Indirect speech shows how Scrooge is threatening and always wants to be in charge
He is predictable and will not give cratchet permission to get more coal
You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard a crumb of cheese
Although Scrooge is afraid of the ghost he tries to maintain authority even over his own senses
