Investigations for Haematological malignancies

A

Acute leukaemia (AML, ALL), MDS:
1. Blood film
2. BM biopsy + Cytogenetics
3. HBsAg, Anti-HBcAb
4. G6PD

Myeloma:
1. BM biopsy + Cytogenetics / FISH
2. RFT
3. Ca
4. Serum electrophoresis
5. Urine for BJ protein
6. CT / PET-CT / MRI for bone lytic lesion
7. B2 microglobulin (prognostication)
8. HBsAg, Anti-HBcAb
9. G6PD

Lymphoma:
1. Tissue histology (LN biopsy) (for diagnosis)
2. BM biopsy (for staging purpose)
3. PET-CT (for staging purpose)
4. LDH (prognostication)
5. Serum protein electrophoresis (monoclonal gammopathy can be associated with lymphoid neoplasms)
6. HBsAg, Anti-HBcAb (∵ use of Rituximab)
7. HIV
8. G6PD
