  • side effects: Safe to use but can cause stomach upset, changes in appetite, weight gain, fluid retention and swelling (edema), fatigue.
  • Ex: Nexplanon, Depo-Provera, Plan B

  • side effects: mild stomach and intestinal side effects (constipation, bloating, and nausea)
