Q

What is the difference between afferent and efferent divisions

A

-Afferent is sensory and carries info from sensory receptors to CNS
-efferent carry info from CNS to effector organs

Q

what is a synapse

A

this is the junction where one neuron alters the electrical chemical activity of another neuron, sometimes they use NT

Q

what are the different types of Neuroglia and what is their function

A
  1. oligodendrocytes and schwan cells: they form mylein gin the CNs and PNS
  2. astrocytes: anchors the neurons to capilaries and regulates the extracellular fluid by removing K+ iions and NT around the synapse
  3. ependymal cells: regulate and produce CSF
  4. Microglia: macropahe like and perform immune function in the CNS
