One person can’t have all the power, there needs to be a congress/parliament to help the government be balanced.
To be hard on yourself
When you work hard and you succeed, but you think that your work isn’t good, usually a negative concept.
Way back when
A casual way to say “a long time ago”.
The norm.
Something that is common or normal.
To be asleep at the wheel
You are being careless and you don’t notice what is going on around you.
To reinvent the wheel
To waste a lot of time or effort to create something that already exists.
A big wheel
The ones with the power. They are usually the ones doing the wheeling and dealing.
A fifth wheel
Someone who is not needed or who is being ignored in a situation.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
The problem complained about most loudly, usually gets fixed first.
