Apparent Motion
An illusion created by the Earth’s rotation making the sun look like it’s moving.
Axis
A tilted, center line which the Earth rotates on.
Constellation
A group of stars made to look like something or a pattern
Gravity
The force of attraction that moves objects closer ot the core of the Earth
Orbit
A repeating path that an object (planets) move on
Phases
Different areas of time where some parts of the moon cannot be seen.
Revolution
A big change in something
Solar System
The area in our galaxy where the stars and planets are
Gibbous
The phase on the moon when it’s less full than the full moon, but but greater than a half moon
Lunar
When the sun, earth, and moon all align
Eclipse
When a planet is covered by the shadow of the sun
Sun Spot
A spot or area on the sun where it appears darker or a different color than the rest of the sun
Atmosphere
The gaseous area that covers the Earth
Galaxy
The area of which million of stars come together to make a spiral form
Tide
The rise and falls of the sea level caused by the gravitational force of the sun and moon
