Q

How do you use Direct Object Pronouns?

A

Direct object pronouns can be used to replace direct object nouns and are placed directly before conjugated verbs.

Example #1:
Veo la profesora. La veo.
(I see the teacher) (I see her)

Example #2:
Violeta tiene la manzana. Violeta la tiene.
(Violet has the apple.) (Violet has it.)

When an infinitive follows the conjugated verb, the direct object pronoun can be placed before the conjugated verb or attached to the infinitive.

Example:
No voy a hacer la maleta hoy. No la voy a hacer hoy.
No voy a hacerla hoy.
(I’m not going to pack the suitcase today) (I’m not going to pack it)
