Q

What does it mean by an increase in temperature?

A

When heating up a substance - the kinetic energy store gains internal energy. Which causes an increase in temperature. (A measure of the average internal energy of a substance)

Q

What is the equation for specific heat capacity?

A

ΔE (change in internal energy - joules) = m (mass - kg) c (specific heat capacity - J/kg°C) ΔT (change in temp - °C)

Q

Why might real life experiment results not be as accurate as the equation, and not give the exact same number?

A

Because in real life - energy would probably get lost to it’s surroundings. So use a lid + insulate well to get as accurate results as possible.
