what is the channel pathology of the spleen
- dampness in the channel which results in heavy sensation in the head and body, facial puffiness, swelling of legs, feet and joints
-tongue disorders resulting in loss of ability to roll or extend the tongue, stiffness of tongue, impaired speech
-channel obstruction resulting in pain, coldness, or heat sensations along the medial thigh, knee, leg, foot or toe - wei syndrome resulting in flaccidity or atrophy of muscles, especially of the extremities
What is the organ pathology of the spleen
- epigastric pain, loose stools, diarrhea, borborygmus, vomiting, nausea, abdominal fullness and distention, reduced appetite, jaundice, general lassitude, listlessness and abdominal qi masses
- water retention and dampness resulting in edema, excessive phlegm fluid, difficult urination, excessive leukorrhea

What are the actions and indications for SP1
Actions:
-stops bleeding
-strengthens the spleen
-calms the spirit and restores consciousness
Indications:
-menorrhagia(heavy prolonged period bleeding, -metrorrhagia(period bleeding beyond 7 days), and -metrostaxis(hemorrhage of the uterus) - or bleeding in any part of the body
-abdominal pain and distention, diarrhea, vomiting, swelling of the limbs,
- mania, depression, epilepsy, loss of consciousness

Actions:
- clears heat
-regulates the middle jiao and resolves dampness
-activates the channel and relieves pain
Indications:
- febrile disease without sweating
-digestive disorders: fullness and pain of the abdomen, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation
- pain, redness and swelling of the toes
