Q

Rule of thumb when considering call regarding number of bets.

A

If your plan was to invest a certain number of bets and a non dag card comes then you can call. Example you have AA BvB (plant to bet twice) you bet the flop on wet brd turn brings some straights and flushes so you elect to check villain checks the riv is a blank so plan was to invest 2bets so bet 2/3 if you checked and villain bets then call.

Q

When thinking through villains value range what must you also think about.

A

You must think of both sides of the coin, if the villain has a wide range he also has more draw cobos or weak holdings as well as made/ nut hands.

Q

How often should we 3b blf vs Fish

A
  • Don’t bluff vs. fish - go lighter for value (f.e KQs/Ajs/AJ) ○ Hes prob calling to wide with kj at etc he dfd more with shit ○ If you blf T9s they call to much with shit that dominates you - The shouter we get, the lighter we go for value as a 3bet and hence go broke

Q

We want to 3b vs reg with fish behind what adjustments should we make.

A
  • The more fish behind, the more you want to flat call. ○ i.e. KTs in CO mp reg is OR and good spot for us to 3b blf, Yet we have 2big fish in blinds now we call the money comes from the fish.

Q

As you get shorter what hands fair better

A
  • As you get shorter you want hands you can go broke with, so if you can flop top pairs, GS with over and flus dr, etc so J9s is good but 22 does not ever flop go broke and 45s rarely does as you never really flop a top pair. Playable vs flatters, blockers vs guys only 3betting.

Because it is harder to realize our equity Because we cannot take freecards and cheap showdowns

Q

Dry boards Such as A72, whats are line in the below spot

A

Bet entire range on the flop small to fold out crp

On the turn,

bet big - 80-100% pot

Draws to fold out 2nps

(GS, flush dr esp with no sho down)

Strong hands for value, stron TP, 2pr, sets, AA we can switch it up as hard for them to have an A.

Bet small

Mid prs 2prs 88-JJ T7 etc where we can still get value and want to deny equity.

KK-QQ x back bluff catch riv

3rd pr/ bt pair x back

weak AX xback bluff catch

x 98, KQ, KJ etx

hands like JT, QJ, T8 etc we might want to turn into bluffs on a a board like A722 as we do not have many bluffs and they never call ar value hands on this board we bluff out KQ etc and if we hit we know it is live as they fold dominating hands.

Q

The opp flatted pre then bet very small twice. Thinking about relative hand stregth vs their flatting range what is are plan on the river and why.

A

If we give them a range for flatting like that for hj then we assume they x back a lot of mid strenght then are trips is worthless as most there range if betting is Ax or 9x or flush so we should x/f as only have around 12% equ potentially. Even if no flush is there there many st combos

Q

Bluff?

A

Here it is worth looking into the Cbet stat, if it is high or they have shown to cbet a lot then is fine to bluff

This is an exploit though vs players cbetting too much.

If you need to balance then you work out roughly your value combos, A9, K9, 2p, 33,44 maybe around 40 combos then choose you best bluffs, so bluffs with back door best first, JTs, 76s, 87s, 86s, T8s, QJs, QTs, 76, 87, A2s, A5s this is already giving you the correct frequency.

56 better to call as do not want to fold if the shove better to realise equity with such a strong draw.

If you do not bluff you can just fold, you can call something like JTs if you decide not to bluff it.

If you elect to bluff you want to keep barrelling if turn an 8, J, K

When you do bluff you can raise a bit smaller as you give yourself a better risk reward ratio, around 320

24
Q

squeeze?

A

You can squeeze bluff with hands like AJ, KTs, KJs

Here you would have to call off the BU if they went ai

25
Q

Bluff?

A

Don’t bet here when they check back they are splitting there range you do no deny equity now

But we can blff things like 67s etc but khigh no

26
Q

What would we do vs an unknown limp from ep when on the BU 18bb effective

A

18bb vs ep limp on bu lp brown, shove purple raise go broke lilet rf pink

27
Q

Final tab with short stacks and big stack that can 3b to left what do we do?

A

want to tighten OR by about 20% so HJ from 25 to 20% ex

If Rec passive players to left stick to the ranges.

28
Q

We are PFA OOP

A

Here we can check but CB is better as we block a lot of his continuation range.

He can not have the k high kjd, ktd, k9d flush draws which can call and bluff you off on later streets

Also you block AQ and KQ- he can only have QJd, QTs which is only 3combos each

We fold out Ah, JT, T9 that fold out write away

He has pocket pairs but we can barrel any Dimond, T, J

So CB is best with Kd even better if we have the Ad but check if not dimond.

29
Q

What should we do here?

A

At this stack depth there is not need to raise we get good odds to the small bet we can bring them to the streets and relise our edge.

If it is close between calling and rejam always x

30
Q

What should we do here what is our general approach with Ahigh hands.

A

Here we should x down give up, if we have two overs to the mid pair it can be good to equity deny as many 2prs check to us here as often they stab with many missed hands.

Generally Ah are check down hands or stab once give up

31
Q

SPR1 limped pot we CP sm - Whats are action

A

It is unlikely he is limping many Ax so we can X/Jam with an SPR of 1

When deeper we can give up these spots even give up with all but 2 pairs when deeper.

Here it woud never be terribel to give up in a 3way pot

Genreally we cp a bit less when shorter but 92s still ok

HU SPR <1.5 it is a must x/j with a pair, 3 way we can still x/j but it is nota must

32
Q

SPR <1.5 HU pot gernaral rule?

A

x/j

33
Q

Here we called in the sb why did we not jam, whats are action on the flop to the raise

A

Pre we dont have much FE here with 7-8bb we want to see a favourable flop.

it is a favourable flop with an SPR less than 1.5 we can rr ai now any pair HU pot.

34
Q

The guy limp calls what is the action here

A

Here it is unlikely the do not riase or limp jam with an A so we can riase small to induce

35
Q

here we are in limped pot what is our action

A

We can in gerneral jam here, take a look at their stats or how they have played in other hands.

If they are passive then yes jam if they are normally agg and now suddenly limp then x behind

36
Q

We raised pre and got a flat

A

here we can open shove, sometimes they fold sometimes they even call AQ if they have a pair we still have 6outs.

If they trapped the so be it we would have called a rejam any how.

37
Q

Generally mw or to mr what can we do in bb

A

Anything that can make straigt then be careful with our one pair hands look for 2p straights etc

38
Q

Talk about this spot

A

This could be a nice spot to squeeze with hands like Kjo, Ato, A6s, AJ hands that are not quite good enough to flat but have good blockers, we can pump it up to around 120k putting a lot of pressure on these

It also puts the stacks all in behind .

39
Q

What to we bet here

A

He has a big weak part so attack this with a small bet,

Also he can havesome 3x you don’t

Small can keep in KQ etc so they xr as bluff of peel one then can hit make a pair and call another bet.

He can freak out and decid to bluff his 76 or something.

Also you can bet big on the Turn so you can still get value from Ax

you could bet 20k here even as you need know protection

40
Q

can we flat here?

A

Here 16bb we cannot flat as do not have the implied as 22 gets if value from hitting set when flatting, we can 3b to a size to commit them but allows us to get away if the deeper stack comes over the top.

We don’t want to flat these low pockets <30bb

41
Q
A
42
Q

What should be are approach when facing AIs on flops turns or rivers

A

Always start by keeping it simple, what do they do this with we are behind, what can we find we are ahead off. We don’t want to invest are money in low equity. What will they definatly do it with. What might they might is 30-50% of the time not 10%.

43
Q

When considering the collision factor what can influence the decision

A

SB reg, BB fish - tighter

SB fish, bb reg - looser

As fish does not know to shove so wide in bb, also reg will know this so will call tighter. Coll goes up as reg will shove at least nash maybe wider.

44
Q

what do we do with draws <15bb

A

15bb x/j with draw OSED/ flush draw

45
Q

If there are not any busted draws on the riv what should we be more inclined to do

A

GU

46
Q

General rule for river bets

A

Riv - if you think there range is weak and want to sqz out value bet small, if you want to fold there weak holding bet big

47
Q

Final table we bet CO tight SB 3b

Brd TT5ss, they bet we call 99

Turn 7 they x

Are action?

A

Here a good thought is how often do we think they x/r in this spot (here not likely)

How often if we xb does and over come or a card not good for us that they bet and we can not call. (here quite often)

So in these spots we can bet on the small side

We decide the size, so if we check and the riv is 2 and they bet 60% we have to call so we loose the minimum by betting small now.

Bet the turn once

When you face raises (3b) you are in the defending situation here the main objective is to the reduce the losses to a miminum so we protect/ get thin value.. We try and not go below a break even point

48
Q

When you face raises (3b) you are in the defending situation

A

here the main objective is to the reduce the losses to a miminum so we protect/ get thin value.. We try and not go below a break even point. We make the money when we have the stronger range

49
Q

What do we do MW with Top pairs

A

Normally top pair with QT on 3T5ss we do not bet but when MW we still bet 66%(oop) with weaker top pairs we can bet smaller as there are more overs to protect from and fllush draws.

Always bet mw with flush draw present.

If dry boards k24 then we can still check as there are not so many overs now.

50
Q

Here we are 16bb and the button has played 9 of 10hands and the BB seems play happy also. What do we do with QJ here.

Generally what hands do we shove deep for exampl low pokets at 20bb deep

A

Here even if it is only 10 hands but CO has played 9 of 10 this is already a tendency and bu seems play happy as well

This is a good adjustment to jam the QJ 16bb instead of the normal raise.

You could MR if regs behind

You have to get a feel for the thresholds say normally you jam a hand at 15bb the threshold with these players goes up to 17bb

It can be 15-20bb

20bb always mr these hands

From the CO 16bb just shove the suited Ax - mr at 18bb/19bb

Same HU 15bb just jam suited A

So normally mr 17bb+ and shove <15bb for mid range hands

51
Q

What hands do we want to jam in this spot

A

AQs, TT+, AK+

99, 88 we would fold

The implied for set mining we need 13-15 times the investment esp here as we may have worse set more often against such a strong range

Also think we do not always get the whole stack and loose it to a str etc so that’s why we can use the 7x rule

52
Q

What do we do in this spot <30bb

A

x/jam the OSED to the small raise

<30bb jam to the small raise definately

With 2overs and OSED

With <66% bet or to there standard bets, there are lots of bad turns for us

even UTG has all the broadways in their hand, 40% of the time you win then when they call you have 33% equity

53
Q

What do we do here the pre flop was 4x call you called bb cld

A

Here we just fold it is too likely someone has a strong range even to a 66% sizing. Pre if they 4x likely strong so just flat, if they had bet 2.2 or something then there is a call then we can 2b TT for the extra dead money when normally it is JJ but if bb fish still flat as want them in the pot.

54
Q

What do we do here

A

Raise call vs SB fold Vs bb

55
Q

Final Table - What are line with ICM

A

here with ICM dont like calling but a riase with the back doors and ICM pressure. folding is also ok
