Stuck Droops
1- Shut sown one Engine to reduce %RPM R
2- If droops are still not in, accelerate rotor to 75% RPM R.
3- ENG PCL to IDLE and displace cyclic to attempt to dislodge droop.
4- If droop is still not in, clear area of personnel and shut down engine with cyclic in normal position.
Establish Single Engine Airspeed Definition
Maneuvering the aircraft to an appropriate airspeed that will allow continued flight under partial power conditions to a suitable landing area.
Establish Single Engine Airspeed EP
- Cyclic- Adjust as required
- Collective- Adjust as required to maintain % RPM R within normal operating range.
- Establish appropriate airspeed.
Lockout Definition
Manual control of Engine RPM while bypassing DEC functions.
Lockout EP
- ENG PCL- Pull down and advance full forward while maintaining downward pressure, then adjust to set % RPM R as required. (10% below other Engine.)
Single Engine Failure EP
- Establish Single Engine Airspeed
- External cargo/stores- Jettison (if required)
If continued flight IS NOT possible:
- Land As Soon As Possible
If continued flight IS possible:
- Land as Soon as Practicable.
1 Tail Rotor Servo Caution Appears with NO backup pump OR #2 Tail RTR Servo On does not appear.
- Tail Servo Switch- Backup
- Backup Hydraulic Pump Switch- ON
- Land as Soon as Practicable
Because of the limited yaw control range avail-able, a roll-on landing at approximately 40KIAS is required.
1 or #2 Hydraulic Pump Caution Appears WITHOUT Backup Pump ON Advisory does not appear.
- Airspeed- Adjust to a comfortable airspeed.
- BACKUP HYD PUMP switch- ON
If Backup Pump ON advisory does appear:
Refer to #1 or #2 HYD PUMP Caution Appears EP.
If Backup PUMP ON advisory does not appear:
- FPS and BOOST switches: OFF (For #2 HYD PUMP Caution.)
- Land as Soon as Possible
(Turn off FPS and BOOST in case they come back on erratically. May cause loss of aircraft control.)
Stabilator Malfunction- Auto Mode Failure
- Cyclic Mounted Stabilator Slew Up switch- Adjust as required
- Auto Control Reset- Press ON once, after establishing a comfortable airspeed.
Slope Operation Prior Discussion
- Parking Brake Set
- Dynamic Rollover (Pivot Point, Rolling Motion, Exceeding the Critical Angle)
- Droop Stop Pounding
- Wind Speed and Direction
Autorotation Steady State Factors
- RPM R within limits.
- Airspeed not below 80 KIAS
- Torque, Trim, and aircraft in a position to land at desired touchdown point.
Unusual Attitude Recovery Procedures
- Attitude- Level the wings on the attitude indicator.
- Heading- Maintain heading; turn only to avoid known obstacles.
- Torque- Adjust torque as necessary.
- Trim- Trim aircraft as necessary.
- Airspeed- Adjust Airspeed as necessary.
